The Canadian Yachting Association's Learn to Sail
standards provide safe standardized instruction for recreation and
competition in sailing dinghies.
The following programs/schedule are available
for 2008:
White Sail I, II and III are the introductory
levels. You can expect to learn sailing terminology, points
of sail, tacking, gybing, righting a capsized boat and knots.
Upon completion of White Sail you will be able to confidently
skipper your own small sailboat.
Bronze Sail IV covers advanced sailing
techniques, including sail trim, boat tuning, boat maintenance,
rules of the road and trapezing. After completing the bronze
levels sailors are competent in winds up to 25 km/hr.
White Sail I and II classes are taught on our
Escapes and Pirates. White Sail III and Bronze IV are taught on
Laser IIs and Lasers. |
